The Protestant Lutheran protected church of St. Nikolai is located in Borstel, a district of the municipality of Jork in the district of Stade in Lower Saxony. The church community belongs to the Stade church district in the Stade provostry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover.
The parish is first mentioned in 1221. The first church stood on Hahnöfersand. The church, which was destroyed by storm floods, was relocated to the mainland in the 14th century. In 1380 and 1393, storm floods also destroyed this second church. Subsequently, a new building was erected at the current location.
