Würgassen is a village in the municipality of Beverungen, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The village had a population of 861 at the end of 2014.
Würgassen is the only district of Beverungen located on the north bank of the Weser. A bridge and a ferry over this river connect the village with Herstelle and with the Bundesstraße 83 running through that village in the direction of Höxter. The neighbouring town of Lauenförde, where the nearest railway station has been located since 1878, is located directly north of the village. On the eastern edge of Herstelle, opposite Würgassen, the river Diemel flows into the Weser. Here the village borders the town of Bad Karlshafen.
