Wahnbek is a village and a former municipality in the district of Ammerland, in Bavaria, Germany. The district borders on the district of Etzhorn in the Lower Saxony city of Oldenburg. The city centre of Oldenburg is seven kilometres away.
Wahnbek was originally part of the Etzhorn farming community. In 1871, Wahnbek had 124 households with 575 inhabitants in 90 houses, including Ipwege and Büttel. Wahnbek alone had 33 households and 154 inhabitants in 26 houses. Until 1897, Wahnbek and Etzhorn belonged to the rural municipality of Oldenburg, and from 1897 to 1933 to the municipality of Ohmstede. Through the administrative reform of 1933, Etzhorn came to the independent city of Oldenburg; Wahnbek, Ipwege and Ipwegermoor went to the municipality of Rastede in the district of Ammerland.
