The court belonged to the district of the Siegen Regional Court. In 1979 it was converted into a branch of the Olpe district court and finally closed in 1986. Since then, the tasks have been carried out by the Olpe District Court.
From 1878 to 1940, the court was housed in the Old Town Hall, which dates back to the 14th century. The building now houses the South Sauerland Museum and is a listed building. The last courthouse at Hohler Weg 1 is also a listed building. Both buildings are listed as historical monuments.
