Il tribunale apparteneva al distretto del tribunale regionale di Siegen. Nel 1979 è stato trasformato in una filiale del tribunale di Olpe e nel 1986 è stato chiuso definitivamente. I compiti sono stati da allora svolti dal tribunale di Olpe.
Dal 1878 al 1940 il tribunale era ospitato nell'antico municipio risalente al XIV secolo. L'edificio ospita oggi il museo della Sauerland meridionale ed è protetto come monumento. Anche l'ultimo edificio del tribunale in Hohler Weg 1 è protetto come monumento. Entrambi gli edifici sono registrati nell'elenco dei monumenti.
