Bitze is a district of the municipality of Eitorf in the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhein-Sieg-Kreis. The name of the district means dialectally "orchard".
Bitze includes the former districts of Sterzenbach and Forst. Forst was the original location, which, like its counterpart Forstmehren, functioned as a border location at the royal forest of Leuscheid. According to traditions, there was once a castle here, at least a fortified house, from which the transition to the Sayn lordship territory was monitored. A corresponding foundation had previously been discovered, and a street name "Zur alten Burg" (To the Old Castle) commemorates this tradition. For a long time, the district is no longer the southeasternmost settlement of the municipality, but the district of Rodder, which specifically points to a clearing in the forest.
