St. Joseph's Hospital in Kupferdreh is a hospital located in the Kupferdreh district of Essen, Germany. The sponsor is the Katholische Kliniken Ruhrhalbinsel gGmbH, which has been part of the Contilia Group since 2014.
The beginnings of St. Joseph's Hospital in Essen-Kupferdreh can be traced back to the efforts of the Franciscan Waldbreitbach Sisters, who founded a branch in Kupferdreh on May 14, 1895, in which four sisters dedicated themselves to outpatient nursing. The sisters collected collections for the construction of a hospital. In 1900, the Catholic Association for Hospital Construction acquired the land for this purpose on the site of the former Feldmannshof. This association was founded on March 31, 1900 by the first pastor and dean of St. Joseph's Parish, Friedrich Schwermann, and still exists today under the name St. Josef Hospital e.V.
