Dreisbach is the smallest district of the municipality of Mettlach in the Merzig-Wadern district. Until the end of 1973, Dreisbach was an independent municipality. There is a frequently visited youth hostel in Dreisbach.
Dreisbach is located right on the Saar loop. The place is named after the stream that flows into the Saar there. The upper course of the stream is called Salzbach. The name of the lower course comes from the Gothic Drinsan, which means to fall or to tumble down.
