Description

During her journey from Brussels to Rome in 1655 Queen Christina of Sweden stayed two days in the St. Michael Abbey in Siegburg, although the presence of women was interdicted by the rules of Saint Benedict. The abbey was heavily damaged in de 30-year War. The queen witnessed the rebuilding project by Abbot Johan von Bock.
