The oldest agricultural or craftsman house in the historic town center of Schermbeck is located on Steintorstraße and was built between 1566 and 1569. After extensive renovation work, it has served as a local history museum since 1987, managed by the local history and heritage association. The museum features a permanent exhibition on the history and culture of Schermbeck, exhibits from trades, agriculture, and households, as well as changing special exhibitions primarily on local historical topics. The agriculture and household sections transport visitors back to a long-gone era.
