This chapel is accessed through the impressive "Goldene Tor" (Golden Gate), an elaborate wrought iron gate that has separated the chapel from the rest of the cathedral since 1974.
Originally this gate served as the western end of the choir and is decorated with symbols personifying the Church and the Papacy, as well as with archiepiscopal and electoral insignia.
