From the highest church tower in the world down to the shores of Lake Constance, the ADFC-awarded quality cycle route of the Danube-Lake Constance Cycle Path extends.
The Danube-Lake Constance Cycle Path leads from Ulm on the Danube down to the shores of Lake Constance and connects two well-known long-distance cycle paths: the Danube Cycle Path and the Lake Constance Cycle Path.
The Ulm Minster with the highest church tower in the world is the first attraction along the route. The route then continues towards Biberach, where the picturesque market square invites you to take a long break. A steep climb follows, which is rewarded with a fantastic view and a rapid descent through meadows and forests. The Kneipp spa town of Bad Waldsee attracts visitors with its picturesque old town between two small lakes. A visit to the Waldsee thermal baths will revitalize tired cyclists' legs.
After a ride through the romantic valley of the Wolfegger Ach, the
Farmhouse Museum Allgäu-Oberschwaben Wolfegg invites you to take a tour. Villages, flower meadows and forest islands line the way to Kißlegg, which is picturesquely situated on the shores of Lake Zell. The town center with its impressive New Kißlegg Castle is just as worth seeing as the historic old town of Wangen, which follows as the next stage destination.
This is where the last section of the route begins, an exhilarating descent to Lake Constance with a magnificent Alpine panorama, through nature reserves and extensive apple, cherry and hop plantations to Kressbronn on Lake Constance.
Muscle power is required along the entire route, but there are plenty of opportunities to relax in between: natural bathing lakes, spas and soothing thermal baths, such as the Jordanbad near Biberach or the Waldsee-Therme, invite you to take a relaxing break.
However, there are also numerous opportunities for further stops along the route: museums, historic old towns with medieval centers and the Oberschwäbische Barockstraße offer cultural variety. You can also spend particularly enjoyable hours in the inns and beer gardens with regional specialties and traditionally brewed beer.
