Description by the author

Between Prims and Sollbach, you hike along romantic paths past natural monuments and rock formations. Old border markers and fantastic views from the Schlossberg via Vogelsbüsch back to Büschfeld complete the hiking trail. Between 1920 and 1935, the Sollbach valley formed the border between the German Reich and the former "Saar region", which was subject to the League of Nations at the time.

The trail is particularly characterized by streams, rocks and wild and romantic natural landscapes. Sollbach and Prims, Kerzenbach and Mottenborn, the Springental spring, the Heidenborn and many small tributaries and spring horizons cross and accompany this extraordinary hiking trail.

After passing the last house in Büschfeld, the path climbs steeply upwards.

You have to climb quite a few meters to reach the viewpoint at Kälberfels.

The view through the "forest window" at Kälberfels opens up far-reaching views across the Prims valley to the ridges of the Black Forest high plateau.

The "Five Oaks" natural monument is located in the Sollbach valley. The five oak trees, which are around 200 years old, grew upwards from an oak trunk. Between 1920 and 1935, the Sollbach valley formed the border between the German Reich and the then "Saar region", which was subject to the League of Nations at the time.

The longer you walk along the stream, the more pathy the trail becomes, leading into complete seclusion. The "three-circle stone" stands above the Solbach valley. This is where the borders of the districts of Merzig-Wadern, Saarlouis and St. Wendel meet. The route then continues upwards to the high plateau between the villages of Vogelsbüsch and Altland.

In Primstal, the route climbs steeply up towards the "Junger Hirschkopf" nature reserve. Several bizarre rock spurs, known as the "Waderner Schichten", are passed. The trail leads back to Büschfeld via the old railroad embankment along the Prims river. The trail has been awarded 72 experience points by the German Hiking Institute.
