Circular hiking trail No. 1 from Rheder to Hampenhausen, Auenhausen, Frohnhausen, back to Rheder

At the starting point at the church in Rheder, free parking spaces are available to you. Alternatively, you can also turn right at the end of Rheder after the brewery and park your vehicle for free at the Weidenpavillon. Follow the federal road towards Siddessen until you leave the village. Please follow the hiking trail to Hampenhausen on the left through the settlement and then into the forest. During the ascent, you will hike past the fish pond in Himmelreich and shortly before the village at the "Hummelwiese" (small path to the left) as well as at the "Erlebnisbauernhof Hartmann" in Hampenhausen. The hiking trail leads you to the radar station on the outskirts of Auenhausen. From there, you will cross the village of Auenhausen. Before following the hiking trail to Frohnhausen into the forest, you have the opportunity to follow the field path downhill about 50 m further at the edge of the forest. There stands the so-called Kaiserstein. It commemorates the Imperial Maneuvers from September 9-12, 1907, in which Emperor Wilhelm II personally participated as an observer. In the further course, you will reach the village of Frohnhausen. On the ridge after the village, you have a magnificent view. On the left side of the path is a protected rest area with a small spring pond in the background, inviting you to take a break. Please turn sharply right onto the field path in front of the old forest worker's house. Passing fields and meadows, the path leads you downhill through a forest into the picturesque Nethetal. After leaving the forest, walk towards the village of Rheder in the valley. Once in Rheder, follow the federal road back to the car.

Different paths/shortcuts are not maintained by the city of Brakel. The last section through the forest back to Rheder is currently being re-marked.
