Water is the defining element of the Bergisches Land. For centuries, people have used its power to build mills on rivers, streams. The Mill Route leads from the historic Odenthal town center to the most important mill locations in the municipality. The path follows the idyllic river courses of Dhünn and Scherfbach. The numerous mill models in the Wind and Water Museum in Stein offer hikers the opportunity to learn more about the functioning of different mills. From Höffe in the Scherfbach valley, the Mill Route can also be combined with a visit to the high ropes course K1 at Kramerhof.
