Ruhr-Valme-Henne

Three rivers are at the center of this round. The most famous of them, the Ruhr, starts the round in Bestwig. It leads initially on a former railway line, called "Bähnchen," from Heringhausen to Ramsbeck. The tour continues steadily uphill through the Valmetal to Bödefeld.
First, you cycle from Westernbödefeld along the main road, which is left behind at Höringhausen. After a crisp climb at Köttinghausen, you pass several wind turbines. Later, it gently descends into the Ruhr valley. At Remblinghausen, the main road is crossed again, and the tour leads back to Meschede via Löllinghausen, where you encounter the third river, the Henne, which flows into the Ruhr as the outlet of the Hennetalsperre through a beautifully landscaped park.
There, you can take a detour to the Hennesee and gather new strength during a break before heading back to Bestwig via the Ruhr valley cycle path through Meschede and Wehrstapel.
