Field of dreams from the Soest Börde to the Ruhr.

The premium cycling route from Welver via Werl, Ense to Wickede (Ruhr) is part of the overall route "QuerFeldLand-Route", which extends from Welver to Fröndenberg/Ruhr and serves as an attractive connection between the Römer-Lippe-Route and the Ruhrtalradweg, leading cyclists through the three very different and therefore varied natural landscapes of Soester Börde, Haarstrang, and Ruhrtal. The route design incorporates defining elements of the rural area, providing a touristically tangible experience of the region.
In addition to the natural diversity of the region, the route offers additional experiences and information opportunities at currently 12 agricultural businesses with the thematic focus on "agriculture", with the aim of familiarizing users with agriculture in all its facets and thus contributing to raising awareness for agricultural production, involving the actors – the agricultural businesses. The agricultural theme is comprehensively understood, encompassing not only classical agricultural and forestry production (crop cultivation, animal husbandry, etc.), but also energy production (biogas, photovoltaics, etc.), direct marketing of regional products, and the diversification of agricultural farms through tourist and gastronomic offerings such as "farm holidays" or farm cafes.
At the route locations, visitors gain impressive insights into how food is produced, how regional products (e.g. fruits and vegetables) are further processed in the value chain, or how green electricity is produced from the countryside using state-of-the-art technology. At each location, an information board vividly presents the special features and practices of the respective agricultural business. Furthermore, some businesses – by prior arrangement – offer the opportunity to visit production facilities and engage in discussions with farmers. Numerous businesses also offer opportunities for leisure activities and tasting products from the region: shopping possibilities in farm shops, farm cafes, and a variety of experience offerings complete the tour.
