The valley tour may not be without ascents, but it combines long flatter sections in the Elpe, Sorpe, and Ruhr valleys. In between are some crisp climbs: for example, the Große Bildchen and the Rimberg behind Bad Fredeburg. From Meschede to Bestwig, the route follows the Ruhr cycle path - enough time to loosen up your legs again.
