Description by the author

The second stage of the Hohenzollern Trail leads from the castle in Haigerloch past Rangendingen to the monastery church and the Roman open-air museum to Hechingen-Stein.

We start in the historic town of Haigerloch. From our starting point
in Hechinger Straße, we walk over cobblestones past the
Atomkellermuseum
out of the Eyachtal valley and uphill towards Schloss Haigerloch. We cross the castle courtyard until we reach the forest and then follow the signs to Kapffelsen. Here you can enjoy a unique view. We continue slightly downhill through the forest until we reach Hechinger Straße again, this time already outside the town. We walk back a little towards Haigerloch and then turn left onto a forest path towards Stetten. We follow the path until we reach gravel and come to Stetten between fields.

In Stetten we pass the cemetery and reach Stettener Straße, which we walk up to the left for 30 m and turn right into Straße am Netterbühl. We cross the railroad line and reach the edge of the forest. We initially follow forest paths, then more paths over the hill of the "Schwarze Wäld". At a fork in the path, we keep left and after a longer stretch in the forest, past the Korbereiche, we reach the Lindeshalde. After a while, we turn slightly right onto a forest and meadow path that leads us to Rangendingen. As soon as we leave the forest, we find apple trees on our right and enjoy the first view of the municipality of Rangendingen.

Past the home museum "s'Mahles Haus", we now follow a forest path in the direction of Stauffenburger Hof. Shortly before a crossroads, follow the forest path half-left downhill. At a bend in the path, we recognize a mighty wooden cross on a hill on the right. There is a Memorial to the Stauffenbergs on the former castle stables (cultural-historical monument, visit recommended).

From Stauffenburger Hof, you have the option of taking the access road to the L 410 and then following the cycle path next to the road to Stein. Climb up to Lindich Castle and walk along the avenue after the castle in the direction of Hechingen. After 1 km, the main hiking trail 3 turns left towards Hechingen-Stein.

If you want to go to Hechingen, walk over the Martinsberg with its ruined chapel. Past the Schützenhaus and the open-air swimming pool, you will reach the train station.
