Wandern im Aufseßtal

Cross the road and head in the direction of the fishery. The path leads you along the fish ponds to the edge of the forest and into the beautiful Aufseßtal valley. Follow this hiking trail for approx. 3 km until you reach a footbridge that leads you across the Aufseß on the left-hand side. Parts of the meadow path can be a little boggy in wet weather.

Cross the road and continue uphill on the hiking trail opposite. To the right of the path you will find the Fuchsbauten, the Bauernhöhle, the Rauenberger Höhle and the Krämerstein. At the second fork in the path, keep left and stay on the wide meadow path until you reach Heckenhof. Here you can stop off at the "Kathi-Bräu" brewery.

The trail markings take you through Heckenhof. Now you have to cross the road again and continue past Galgenhügel in the direction of Neuhaus. In Neuhaus, it is worth visiting the rock garden with the Sky Stealer. If you want to make this little detour, turn left before the first houses in the village of Neuhaus and walk downhill to the cemetery. From there, you can climb the imposing rocks on a narrow path.

From the cemetery, continue to the main road (St 2189), which you cross to get back to Aufseß on the other bank of the Aufseß on the Brauereienweg past Gasthof Mühlengrund and Oberaufseß Castle and through the village to the parking lot.
