Description by the author

This route takes its name from the Schankweiler Klause. She is a real gem with her rich baroque architecture. However, this tour could also be called valley tour, as it offers impressive views of the Enz and Prüm Valley from a variety of perspectives. It spans itself between picturesque, whimsical mountain ranges and the landscape with orchards typical of the South Eifel. In addition to the hop fields, they bear witness to the mild climate that prevails here. Those interested in history will also find what they are looking for. Numerous prehistoric and later monuments provide evidence of a thousand-year-old settlement history. Celts and Romans apparently felt very at ease here and perhaps already enjoyed the wonderful panoramic views back then.
