DESCRIPTION
Headquarters and residence of the President of the Republic of Ecuador, was built between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries.
"The first body of the façade is made of stone. The second body contains a gallery that overlooks the Plaza de la Independencia, with a column made of stone. The columns, in Greek style, are 20 in total and replace the original columns of the Colony, which were made of brick." (El Comercio, 2011)
PECULIARITIES
- In 2017 by decree it is stated that the palace and the residence, along with all the gifts that the President receives in his visits are part of the Ecuadorian Cultural Heritage, for these reasons it became a museum accessible to all.
- It is allowed to enter the internal courtyards, several representative rooms of the construction, interior oratory and exterior balcony.
