The hermitage of Santa Caterina is a moderately sized hermitage in the municipality of Torroella de Montgrí. The hermitage is hidden in the interior of the Santa Caterina valley, to the north of the Ullà, Montgrí, and Montplà mountains. There is an accessible forest track leading from the road between Montclar and L'Escala. Nevertheless, there are multiple paths and trails that start either from the Santa Caterina pass, between the Ullà mountain and Montgrí, or from the Garrigars pass, between Montgrí and Montplà. To the east, a path follows the course of the valley past the pass where one can reach the forest track that leads from the dunes of Torroella to Sobrestany. The building was initiated in a late Gothic style, although mixed with Baroque modifications.
