The castle of l'Eramprunyá was built in the 10th century as part of the defensive system along the border between Al-Andalus and the Carolingian Empire, and as a political, economic, and military control center in the area between Garraf and Llobregat. It was owned by the counts of Barcelona. In the 15th century, the castle was heavily damaged due to wars. At the end of the 19th century, it was finally acquired by Manuel Girona i Agrafel.
Despite its state of abandonment and ruin, the two enclosures in which the castle was divided can be clearly distinguished. The upper (sobirà) is where the noble buildings were located. In the lower (jussà), we find the cemetery, the church of Sant Miquel, and the cistern. The two enclosures are connected by a wooden walkway.
The views from the castle allow us to see a large part of the Baix Llobregat, the sea, Tibidabo, Barcelona, and even Montseny and Montserrat, making the strategic importance of this castle evident.
