The Church of the Tabernacle was established thanks to the bull of February 12, 1488. Initially it was built in a corner of the courtyard of the orange trees, but in the eighteenth century the building was demolished, since it was in poor condition, to build a new one incorporating the façade made for the Cathedral. This façade began to be built in 1514, which would be made in the official style of the Catholic Church at that time, that is, in the Elizabethan Gothic style. Its author is not known exactly, but it is believed that it may be either Pedro López, master of the Cathedral of Jaén, or Bishop Fuente del Sauce. It was begun by Bishop Diego Ramírez de Villaescusa de Haro and completed by Bishop César Riario, whose coat of arms and seal are on the cover.
