The castle of Torelló, also known as castell dels moros, is located on the crest of a small mountain range, at an altitude of 781 m, north of the plain of Vich, above the valley of Torelló and the river Ges, over which it served as a watchtower.
Due to its location, about 250 m above the valleys of the river Ges and the river Ter, which rises here from the pre-Pyrenees, at a height of 500 m, it offers a privileged view of the plain of Vich and all the foothills that surround it up to Montseny.
The castle was a formidable bastion for controlling the entrances and exits of the plain of Vich and Catalonia to the north in this sector of the Pyrenees.
