The stream of La Gavarresa or Gavarresa, is a river course born near the peak of Griells, in the municipality of Alpens, in the region of Osona, at about 900 m of altitude. [1] The region of Osona is on the border of the provinces of Barcelona and Girona.
The Gavarresa stream crosses in a northeast-southwest direction the sub-region of Llusanés, enters the Bages from the northwest of the Moyanés region, passes through Avinyó and drains at about 240 m altitude to the left of the Llobregat river, upstream of the bridge of Cabrianes, within the municipality of Artés. It receives the streams of Lluçanès and Relat, on the right, and that of Oló[2] and Malrubí, on the left. [3] Its flow has a marked seasonal component, although on its waters the Romanesque bridge of Sant Martí d'Albars is preserved.
