Náutico Almatà is a campsite and a place in the municipality of Castelló d'Empúries in the Alt Empordà region, integrated into the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà Natural Park in Catalonia. The name comes from the Mas del Matar next to the campsite that in its creation in 1971 inspired the name of the facility. Soon, after the transition, the search for a balance between economic interests and ecological and landscape interests remained the subject of a debate, protests and lawsuits, not yet finished, although a gigantic project to create a long "Port Levante" that would have urbanized the entire area seems definitively abandoned.
