The Algar River is a coastal river in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula that flows into the Mediterranean Sea and runs through the province of Alicante.
It is born in the Sierra del Ferrer, in the municipality of Callosa de Ensarriá, forming the Fuentes del Algar, which constitute a recreational and bathing area with numerous cold water falls. Its waters are used for irrigation, especially medlar that has denomination of origin.
