The Carbonell building is a residential construction located at 2 Esplanade Avenue in Alicante, dating back to 1924, and designed by architect Juan Vidal i Ramos. It is one of the most emblematic buildings in the city, both for its volume and its privileged location facing the city's waterfront.
The developer of the building was the textile entrepreneur from Alcoy, Enrique Carbonell, who became wealthy from the profits obtained during World War I by supplying uniforms to the French army, intending to enjoy extended stays in the city.
