The castle of Perputxent is located in the municipality of Lorcha, Spain, in the vicinity of the town centre and in a strategic location from where part of the course of the Serpis River is dominated. In reality, these are two castles built on the same site
The fortress, of Muslim origin, is dated between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. From here, the Perputxent valley was controlled, at the time, a large area rich in farmsteads, with an economy based on irrigated agriculture.
