Plasencia is a railway station located in the Spanish city of Plasencia in the province of Cáceres, autonomous community of Extremadura. It has medium-distance services operated by Renfe. According to Adif, the station is located at kilometer point 16.7 of the 530 railway line of the Spanish railway network between Monfragüe and Plasencia. Historically, the station belonged to a wider route between Monfragüe and Astorga, but the closure of the vast majority of the line on December 31, 1984, reconfigured this segment as a small branch of the 500 line between Madrid and Valencia de Alcántara. The new railway situation created in 1984 made passing trains obliged to reverse their direction in Plasencia to continue their route. The segment is single track and is not electrified.
