The cable car on Monte Ulia in San Sebastián was one of the first aerial cable cars for passenger transport in the world.
It went into operation in 1907 and transported 14 people in the gondola to the 224-meter-high Monte Ulia in just three minutes, where an amusement park was located at that time. The Monte Ulia cable car only had one gondola, which hung from six cables. Of these six cables, three pairs were arranged in pairs.
By 1912, the number of transported passengers had decreased again after another amusement park opened on Monte Igeld. The operation was discontinued in the 1920s due to unprofitability.
