The Refugi de les Ares is, at least by name, a refuge in the municipality of Alt Àneu, in the comarca of Pallars Sobirà. It is located in the area of the village of Alós d'Isil, in the former territory of the Mancomunitat dels Quatre Pobles.
It is situated to the northwest of the sanctuary of the Mare de Déu de les Ares, at an altitude of 1,769 meters, close to kilometer marker 52 of the C-28 road, halfway up the Port de la Bonaigua. It is located right in the middle of two very tight bends in the road. It also functions as a restaurant.
