The Mill of Albolafia, also known as the Wheel of Albolafia , is a water mill on the right bank of the Guadalquivir, near the Roman bridge.
Its origins date back to the Roman Empire, with the first written references dating to the 8th century , although its current appearance is the result of a 9th-century restoration by Abderramán II.
Initially it served to provide irrigation water for the vegetable gardens of the Alcazar , but later it became a flour and fulling mill.
In 1492, while staying in the Alcazar, Isabella the Catholic ordered the water wheel to be dismantled because she couldn't stand its noise .
