The Torre de la Calahorra ( "the lonely tower") is the tower on the left bank of the Guadalquivir at the end of the Roman bridge Puente Romano.
This tower in Córdoba was built in 1369 by order of Enrique II of Trastamana to protect the city of Córdoba from his brother Pedro I the Wrede. Later in the 18th century the tower became a prison and in the 19th century the Torre de la Calahorra was even used as a girls' school.
Today the tower houses a museum and the Institute for Intercultural Dialogues.
