An emblematic monument of Cahors, the Valentré bridge was built from 1308 on the initiative of the consuls of the city. Entirely built in freestone, it is 172 m long, has 8 arches and 3 towers, the latter culminating more than 40 m above the water level.
Completed around 1380, it was always maintained. In 1998, the bridge was inscribed by UNESCO on the World Heritage List as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela.
He's been a pedestrian since 1995. In the evening, take advantage of the lighting to discover the Valentré Bridge from a different perspective.
The little devil you can look for on the central tower recalls the legend of this superb bridge.
