In the forest of Compiegne ended the First World War. Here, the armistice was signed in November 1918 in a train carriage. Now it is a park. Hitler chose this symbolic place on June 21, 1940, to accept the French capitulation. The train now standing here is not real. The real train went to Berlin and was put on fire by the SS troops in 1945.
