Bernis is a municipality with 3,421 inhabitants in the Gard department in France. Bernis borders the municipality of Milhaud to the northeast, Aubord to the east, and Uchaud to the west. The municipality of Bernis encompasses the natural landscape units of Garrigues de Nîmes and the alluvial plain of the Vistrenque, which is traversed by the Vistre. Between Bernis and Aubord begins the extensive mouth delta of the Vistre, which transitions into the Petite Camargue at Vauvert. Due to its proximity to the Vistre, Bernis is periodically affected by floods.
