Col des Champs is a mountain pass located at 2,045 m above sea level, at the limit of the departments of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Alpes-Maritimes ( France ), while the road culminates at 2,089 m 2 .
The pass is on the edge of the central zone of the Mercantour National Park .
Until 1860 , it is on the border between France and Savoy , then the kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia (a marker is laid in 1823 ).
