This Cistercian abbey, with the original name of "Clara Vallis", was founded by Saint-Bernard in 1134 in the heart of the Vauclair forest.
Spared during the Revolution, this building will be very seriously damaged during the fighting of the First World War.
To this day, only the ruins of the abbey remain, and a garden of medicinal plants has been set up on the site of the former apothecary.
