The Potager des Princes, or Parc de la Faisanderie, is a park located in Chantilly, in the Oise department, in the Hauts-de-France region. It has been listed as a historic monument since 1975. In 1682, the Grand Condé commissioned the construction of a pheasantry in the gardens of the Château de Chantilly and asked André Le Nôtre to design the garden. The latter left his mark on this place by balancing perspectives, basins, and terraces. In 1773, Louis-Joseph de Bourbon transformed this pheasantry into a “Roman Pavilion” known as the “Refreshment Room.” In 1793, the Faisanderie was sold as a national asset and remained the property of the Chapard family for 160 years. At the end of the 19th century, the first equine veterinary clinic was established there, which served as a model for the one in Alfort.
