The Capuchins established in Vieux-Brisach left the city in 1697 following its attachment to the Holy Roman Empire. They arrived in Colmar and, thanks to collections within the diocese, built a convent in 1700.
During the revolution, the community, which had about thirty members, was dissolved and their property was confiscated. The estate was sold in 1796 and became the property of a merchant and a farmer. The church was then transformed into a shed that housed a pressing machine in its choir.
