It seems that this port already existed at the time of the Romans, 3.50 m below the current level. It was then installed on the Leyre estuary. A place of tranquillity in the middle of large oaks, it invites painters to set up their easels to sketch the colourful fishermen's huts, against a background of river and green nature, and those with a thirst for adventure to embark on canoes or kayaks for astonishing strolls through the gallery forest or between the reeds in the direction of the Basin. 152 wharves managed by the municipality shelter the boats of pleasure boaters (maximum draft of 1.20 m during high tide levels, slipway and toilets on site, shops 2 km away).
