At the Collège de France, physician Charles Edouard Brown-Séquard worked. He believed that ground animal testicles would keep him young, because he was convinced that aging was caused by a decrease in the function of the testicles. In his laboratory at the Collège de France, he ground up the testicles of a young dog, added water to them and injected them into his veins. According to him, this definitely allowed him to concentrate better, stay awake longer and run up the stairs again. Later, these effects could not be repeated...
