In 1661, Bernard Potier decided to found an orphanage in the Fourcroy fief in place of the old maladrerie. It was the first children's foundation recognized by the king. On the eve of the Revolution, the orphanage was in the care of the nuns of the Feuillants convent until 1792, when the congregations were abolished. Having become state property, the Orphans' Hospice was managed by a municipal commission. After the Second World War, the orphanage again became the property of the Blérancourt Foundation before being taken over in 1957 by the Association le Moulin Vert, which set up a reception structure for children with mental disabilities.
