No! The Tobacco Museum is not a tool for promoting tobacco, nor is it only for smokers!
Its unique collections in Europe evoke the saga of a plant with an exceptional destiny, sometimes divine, sometimes cursed, born and used in America more than 3000 years ago before conquering Africa and then the world. Although it has been put in the dock in its current mode of consumption, it has nevertheless left its mark on all civilizations on a sociological, economic, cultural, artistic and political level.
Discover in its auditorium and thanks to the exhibition of rare pieces, this fact of universal society, the history of tobacco use and objects related to its consumption.
The Tobacco Museum is housed in the Maison Peyrarède, known as Château Henri IV. The architecture of this private mansion, built in the 17th century for a rich bourgeois family, bears witness to the transition from Renaiss
