In the heart of the walled town of Nay, under the arcades bordering the central square, is the Maison Carrée. Classified as a historical monument, this 16th century renaissance style mansion houses the Museum of Industry. It presents rural industries that have marked Nay and Pyrenean foothills over the long-term, especially those related to textiles and wood. It puts into perspective the diversity of the goods manufactured and the manufacturing methods. It also reveals the relationships that were formed in the landscape and society between the agricultural sector and the industrial sector.
