On the ramparts of the Old Town, leaning against the Citadel Gate built in 1598 by Charles III, is a small secret garden. Of medieval style but under the influence of the Renaissance, this 1,270 m² (2,270 sq ft) nature area features squares of aromatic and medicinal plants. It is in spring and summer that honeysuckle, old roses and mint and thyme foliage are best smelled.
