The stele of Noirgueux commemorates the crossing of the Moselle by the soldiers of the 36th American Infantry Division on September 21, 1944, at the place called Noirgueux, who fought there at the risk of their lives to liberate the city of Remiremont. A commemorative ceremony with realistic reenactments takes place every year on the anniversary date. An educational trail dedicated to the Noirgueux moraine has been created by the commune of Saint-Nabord.
